JPMorgan Chase & Co. has become the first target of the task force that the  Justice Department created this year to hold big Wall Street banks accountable for their role in the financial crisis. NEP’s William Black provides input regarding these first steps taken by regulators to prosecute in an article at the LA Times. You can read the LA Times article here.

  1. Bill Black is the expert, but I’ve wondered if they would just start prosecuting someone, they could unravel the whole thing as the rats starting ratting on the bigger rats.

  3. An absurd statement quoted by the LA Times ….”Actions by the New York attorney general’s office have been seen by some as politically motivated. Previous New York attorneys general — Andrew Cuomo and Eliot Spitzer — went on to become governor of New York.

I suppose if the NY AG chose not to prosecute/ ignore crimes agianst society…would not be politically motivated?

  4. This ‘politically motivated’has become a common phrase in quite a few countries. Banking frauds should be throughly investigated and depositor’s money should be protected at all costs.
